Co-injection moulding is a process where two or more different materials are used during the injection so as to achieve more than one colour or mechanical properties (e.g. hardness) within one component. It is also called 2K moulding or even 3K moulding when there are three different materials, but 2K moulding is by far the most common co-injection in practice.
Compared to ordinary injection moulding co-injection requires higher level of technique and process stability but offer more flexibility which is an advantage for product managers. Please email us at to discuss about co-injection possibilities.
